Tripping

Our last trip with Mum and Dad before they returned to England was to the Blue Mountains. No one had really talked much about the mountains - it certainly wasn't first on the list of any 'must see' when we spoke to the Sydneysiders.. but it was a bit of a gem.
The mountains form part of the Great Dividing Range - which prevented people crossing over any further west into the continent for about 50 years. They were finally conquered by Wentworth, Lawson and Blaxland who opened up the fertile plains (and therefore the potential for farming) when they found a way through. I couldn't really understand how anything could be big and impenetrable enough to stop so many determined people from getting to the other side - until I saw them. They are big: huge, dominant and beautiful.
Mum and dad left yesterday morning and we miss them already. I won't be trying to tempt them back with the latest Ozzie tourism ad though. Fully endorsed by John Howard who is convinced it won't offend it asks potential holiday makers "So where the bloody hell are you?" For the whole thing see here
Craig will tell you more on his site. You've got to love their optimism.

Appreciate that, Paul. We're all doing our bit to make this world a better place. If the beard helps, then I am your humble servant.

can I ask questions over
1. that shirt - i am aware its australia but
2. whilst I am aware the beard has a sudden theolgical punch behind it, I am wondering if it continues at this rate of growth down the body, whether our hero will indeed be 'an hairy man' (genesis 27: 11) (for the american audience) and whilst in these days of equal opps there's no problem, your soup and birthright may suffer.
just take it as another sign of love

What's wrong with the t shirt? In fact, it's technically a 'henley', which means it costs more than a normal t shirt and is normally too hot to wear in Australia. As for hairy man status, all that can be said is... no worries.
Actually, Chris, I find your obsession with Borlase's beard worrying... have you issues yourself in the department?

There seems to be a beard trend spreading across the world bringing much uproar where ever it goes. I am somewhat surprised and unsure of the power of a beard considering it is something that is so natural and used to be worn by many men. Is there anyone that can not comment on the growth of hair on a once clean shaven face? Only when the beard has established itself over a few years does it stop creating the paparazzi like frenzy as it once could.
I like beards, my Dad has always had a beard. He hasn't shaved since 1965 and finds great pride in that fact. I think it is his greatest accomplishment.
I really want Ian to grow a beard but he won't. I have just realized that he probably doesn't want all the attention.
Keep on growing. I am expecting a ZZtop type beard when you get back to England.

Giant mutant Koala Bear: What is it doing with Evie and your Mum?!
Beard: Have been following development with interest and while the rugged look is oh so outback, we do miss that chin. So, in this journey of experimentation, why not try a handle-bar? Now there is some potential for setting a new global trend!
